The Story Behind Our Sea Inspired Jewelry
Each piece is jewelry inspired by the sea crafted slowly, with purpose, to last.
A'mmare was born from my deep bond with the sea and the longing to create something genuinely personal, a tribute to nostalgia. Inspired by the majesty of the Mare Nostrum, every piece of jewellery weaves itself into the fabric of lived experiences, drawing life from memories that still carry the warm scent of salt air.
From these fragments of life, A'mmare's jewels take shape, going beyond mere matter to become true emotional objects, as precious as a memory, stories waiting to be told.
The Course
From the Sea to the Jewel
The creative process: sustainable, slow, and made in Italy
1.INSPIRATION Every A'mmare jewel begins with an emotion or a memory tied to the sea. I sketch each piece drawing from my most meaningful moments: walks along the shore, the texture of shells, the rhythm of the waves.
2. DESIGN Every idea becomes a drawing — proportions and details carefully studied — then sculpted by hand in wax.
3. MICROFUSION In the goldsmith's workshop, silver takes shape through the art of lost-wax casting. From wax, to silver.
4. FINISHING Every piece is refined by hand, with careful attention to the details that make each jewel truly one of a kind.
At the helm of this adventure is me, Valentina Masotti, a designer with a background in Fashion Design from the Politecnico di Milano. After years across fashion and graphic design, I decided to create something entirely my own: A’mmare Jewelry.
I have always had a passion for handcrafted jewellery, ever since I was old enough to wear it (before that, I would admire it on my mother with quiet devotion). I wanted to bring together this passion, my studies, and the extraordinary craftsmanship of Roberta Pavone, who in her goldsmith’s studio transforms ideas into something you can hold, and wear.
